GROUP CHARIMAN & DIRECTOR

HIS HIGHNESS, TENGKU SRI TEMENGGUNG RAJA, DATO’ SERI TENGKU BAHARUDDIN IBNI AL – MARHUM SULTAN MAHMUD was appointed to the board as Group Chairman on 10th May 2010. Y.A.M. sits as the Chairman and Director of TRG Industrial Minerals Sdn Bhd and also the shareholder in Terengganu Silica Consortium Sdn Bhd.

Y.A.M Tengku received his certificate in Hotel Management from Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC) in 1994, and subsequently pursued his undergraduate studies in Tourism Business & Finance (Marketing) at the University of De Montfort, United Kingdom in 1996.

Before establishing the TIM Group of companies, Y.A.M Tengku has an excess of 15 years hands on experience leading companies in various industries as key Board member. Y.A.M Tengku is a member of the Audit Committee, Project Committee and Remuneration Committee of the Company. He is also the Chairman and director of TRG Industrial Minerals Sdn. Bhd., the largest shareholder in Terengganu Silica Consortium Sdn. Bhd and TRG Silica (Marang) Sdn. Bhd.  

Y.A.M Tengku has no directorships in other public companies and listed issuers. He has family members as a director and shareholders of the Company. He has no conflict of interest with the Company and has no convictions for any offences within the past five years.

GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. N. Surendren was appointed to the position of Group Managing Director of Terengganu Silica on 1st January 2025.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Business) at Bond University, Australia in 1995 and further obtained his Master Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of New Zealand in 2003.

Since joining Terengganu Silica in 2010 as Chief Executive Officer, he has been an integral part of the company’s growth and success. His strategic direction and leadership have been critical in advancing the company’s operations and capabilities. Under his guidance, Terengganu Silica has expanded from a 500,000 MT capacity plant to its current state-of-the-art facility with a production capacity of 1.3 million MT.

His vision for the future of the company has been exemplified by pioneering projects such as “”Customized Silica Production,”” a first in the Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore, his leadership has resulted in the successful establishment of TRG Silica (Marang), positioning Terengganu Silica to become the largest single producer of silica in the world, with a projected capacity of 3.9 million MT. Under his tenure, Terengganu Silica has also earned the prestigious ASEAN Mineral Award, which has further solidified our reputation on the international stage.

DIRECTOR

Dr. Sivadevi co-founded Navaldian Holdings Sdn. Bhd. with N. Surendren, establishing it as an investment holding company. This led to the formation of the TRG Industrial Minerals (TIM) Sdn. Bhd. Group of Companies, where Dr. Sivadevi was subsequently appointed as a director of both TIM and TRG Silica (Marang) Sdn. Bhd. 

Dr. Sivadevi earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Madras Medical College, India in 1998. She later obtained the MRCOG (Membership of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynealogists, UK) in 2011. With over 25 years of hands-on experience as a Medical Doctor specializing in Obstetric and Gynaecology, Dr. Sivadevi focused on In-vitro Vertilization (IVF) and served both government and private hospitals. 

Before establishing the investment arm for the TIM Group of companies, Dr. Sivadevi accumulated extensive experience in the medical field.

She does not hold any directorships in the other public companies or listed issuers. Family members of Dr. Sivadevi serve as directors and shareholders of the company. She has no conflict of interest with the company and has not been convicted of any offences in the past 5 years.  

DIRECTOR

Dr. Suganthee co-founded SGGI Venture Ltd with N. Surendren as an investment holding company, which later established the TRG Industrial Minerals (TIM) Sdn. Bhd. Group of Companies. She was subsequently appointed as a director for TIM, TRG Silica (Marang) Sdn. Bhd., and Terengganu Silica Consortium Sdn. Bhd..

Dr. Suganthee earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India in 2002. She also holds a Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Ireland and a Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from MAHSA University.

Before founding the investment arm for the TIM group of companies, Dr. Suganthee accumulated over 20 years of hands-on experience as a medical doctor, primarily specializing in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, serving both government and private hospitals. Her expertise also extends to functional medicine, particularly in the areas of anti-ageing, preventive, and regenerative medicine.

Additionally, Dr. Suganthee is a founding member and director of Springhill Group, which focuses on Women’s Health Clinics and Highland Resort.
