Marang Terminal Consists of Bulk Handling System and Conveyor Belt
Our Marang Terminal will be developed as a dedicated private port, specializing in the handling of silica products. Building on the success of our Terengganu Silica Port at Setiu, this new facility will incorporate advanced technology to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. To minimize contamination during loading, this state-of-the-art conveyor system will be equipped with a hopper and ship loader, ensuring that silica products are handled with the utmost care. The conveyor is engineered to resist abrasion from solids, providing a reliable and long-lasting solution for silica transportation. The Marang Terminal’s transportation system offers several advantages over traditional methods:
- No noise during transportation
- Contamination reduction
- Occupies small space
- Minimum maintenance
Marang Terminal Location
The Marang Terminal is situated in the Kg. Kolam, Marang, Terengganu, Malaysia. The upcoming Marang Terminal is set to revolutionize maritime operations in the region. This strategic location will serve as a pivotal hub for maritime trade, offering unparalleled facilities and operational efficiencies.
Port Operator: TRG Silica Marang (TSM)
Construction for the Marang Terminal is slated to commence in March 2025, with an ambitious target for project completion by end of 2027. This timeline reflects our commitment to delivering a modern, efficient, and highly functional terminal. The first berthing is anticipated to begin on March 2028, marking the official start of full operational capacity.
The Marang Terminal will feature a state-of-the-art dual vessel berthing facility, capable of accommodating vessels up to 60,000 Deadweight Tons (DWT). This significant capacity underscores the terminal’s role as a major player in the region’s maritime infrastructure. The berthing design includes a 290-meter-long wharf with a depth of -13 meters Chart Datum (CD), ensuring that large vessels can dock and operation with ease.
With a focus on providing top tier loading and unloading facilities, the Marang Terminal will streamline maritime operations and enhance logistical efficiency. Notably, the design does not require dredging or land reclamation, reflecting an eco-friendly approach to terminal development. This strategic planning ensures that the terminal meets high standards of operational excellence while minimizing environmental impact.
Port Handbook
For comprehensive guidance on port operations, the version of the Port Handbook will be available for download. Shipping agents, vessel owners, and masters planning to berth and load at the private port Marang Terminal are encouraged to review its contents for vital information and insights.
